Apparently the sound collages were recorded for the Acid Test show on Oct. 1, and all the Kesey craziness on the mic is the following night. Read Tom Wolfe's book.

I really do love all of that Prankster collage stuff - it isn't exactly great in a traditional sense, but it's rare to hear music so unabashedly psychedelic, so pure, so self-contained and *about* itself in an active kind of way. That "raga" thing, with the delay going on, is incredible - Jerry himself would delay during Space in this same spirit...

All the Kesey stuff is tougher to take - I mean, even if you try to keep up you're going to find it's an exercise in futility. Kesey knows it, too, which is what makes this thing so amusing...but it's really not something to hear over and over...

Subject: The "Grateful Dead": Show #68
Acid Test 18 of 19.

A debatable Grateful Dead show. This is the only show so far that I've corrected from Dead.Net (although there's too much misleading information to know the correct number of each show). Dead.Net has only this date among the 3 nights of Acid Tests.

More great hilarious and dark psychedelic material with this one. Can I get one large soft woman? The whole thing stands pretty creepy... It's great. Prankster Sound Collage #1... Earliest "techno" I've ever heard. Prankster Sound Collage #2... Haunting piano... Gotta love it. A testament to all things Prankster.
